Finally! The long awaited follow-up to Flying Lotus‘ 2010 ‘Cosmogramma’ and his third album on Warp Records, is scheduled to release the 4th LP ‘Until The Quiet Comes’ set to be released worldwide on October 1st (UK) & 2nd October (USA).

Composed, according to Flying Lotus, as “a collage of mystical states, dreams, sleep and lullabies”, Until the Quiet Comes has the distinct feel of this nocturnal trip. From the twitching descent into a subconscious state and the out-of-focus time-ether of the journey that follows, the sound is an unhinged, yet elegant evolution of the melodic and rhythmic interplay that is woven into the DNA of Flying Lotus’ aural personae.

All this stylistic mingling and genre-melting has contributed significantly to shift music in a direction that makes intellectual leaps without forsaking the all-important heft of a bassline or unimpeded ‘swing’ of a drum beat – the same way so many masters of soul music have infused their songs for lovers and dancers with brilliant and heady subtext for decades. Until The Quiet Comes follows this tradition while clearing a path distinctly it’s own, which is a mark of a classic.

The album, featuring guests Erykah Badu, Laura Darlington, Niki Randa, Thundercat & Thom Yorke.

Until The Quiet Comes‘ tracklist runs as follows:

  1. ‘All In’
  2. ‘Getting There feat. Niki Randa’
  3. ‘Until the Colours Come’
  4. ‘Heave(n)’
  5. ‘Tiny Tortures’
  6. ‘All the Secrets’

After the release of the album, Soundcrash will be presenting a Flying Lotus all-nighter at the O2 Academy Brixton! Not only is this the biggest Flying Lotus UK headline show to date, this show will feature two very special FlyLo performances as the most influential electronic music producer in the world showcases cuts from his hotly-anticipated album “Until the Quiet Comes” surrounded by his Brainfeeder posse to show London how they do things back in LA.

Thundercat brings his otherworldly musicianship and unbelievable groove to Brixton, accompanied by his full live band. A veteran bandleader who has provided that low end for the likes of Erykah Badu and Suicidal Tendencies, his solo debut “The Golden Age of Apocalypse” (produced by Flying Lotus) is a densely-layered, genre-crossing marvel that captures the sunny, virtuoso mania which is sure to be spectacular live!

One of the founding fathers of the legendary Low End Theory in Los Angeles, The Gaslamp Killer is sure to bring his arsenal of mind blowing beats, mammoth bass-lines and countless records to take on the O2’s cavernous confines. His latest release “Breakthrough” is out September 18 2012 and is sure to feature the fearless, flawless production that put the L.A. beats’ movement on the map.

Britain’s own Lapalux will be on hand to show that London can hold it’s own. Expect interstellar rhythms and r’n’b from alternate dimensions as he quotes, destroys and re-combines everything under the sun to create blissful experimental soul.

Kutmah is arguably London’s best distributor of mind bending low end and psychedelic hip hop. One of the forefathers of the beats movement in Los Angeles, his acclaimed Sketchbook radio nights broadcasted the earliest efforts of Flying Lotus and The Gaslamp Killer (among many others). He is rightfully gaining recognition as an impeccable producer and tastemaker.

Jeremiah Jae specialises in electronic compositions that fuse obsessive crate-digging, brash experimentalism, hypnotic space-time feel and jazzy spoken word to an uncompromising hip hop backbone.
